Winter Coat Drive 2020

During the holiday season, it is so easy to fall into the routines of our festive family traditions we forget that our acts of service remain just as important. The need for such service is why we at Ministry Headquarters started our own tradition of having a winter coat drive each year.

On the day before Thanksgiving, we hitch up our Ministry Headquarters trailer and drive down to Center City Philadelphia to hand out coats, gloves, scarves, hot chocolate, etc. to the homeless. Not only does this provide us with the opportunity to meet their physical needs, but it also allows us to meet their spiritual needs as we get to witness to and pray with each person whose heart is open.

The challenges of 2020, which throughout the world have been many, did not prevent HQ from carrying out this tradition (Praise the Lord!). On November 25, we were able to deliver much needed supplies to the homeless in center city.

It is during such trying times, like those in 2020, that these moments can be the most uplifting and transformative to not just those who receive but also to those who give. When so many people are struggling, it is so easy to forgot the blessings that the Lord has given us, but by serving others, like through the coat drive and distribution, it is often a reminder of the many gifts He has given us.

Now as we head toward Christmas, we are further reminded of the greatest gift God has given us: His son, Jesus Christ. As you safely celebrate with your loved ones, please remember to give thanks to the Lord for all the gifts He has given, and first and foremost, hold Jesus Christ in your heart not just during this Christmas season, but throughout the year.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Thank you to all who donated to our coat drive. There will be additional opportunities to hand out coats and other supplies within the new year.

God bless and Merry Christmas!
